2018 – May – BHP Show, Lydden Hill

BHP Show, Lydden Hill, May 2018

So we all headed down to the BHP Show in Lydden Hill on Bank Holiday Monday, first time for me since 2012. The main idea was for Bobby to give the R32 GTR a shakedown after the recent work its had done prior to our 'Ring trip in a couple of weeks
The weather was glorious, the track action was fantastic as usual for Lydden Hill thanks to its more lenient attitude to going sideways, overtaking in corners and braking zones etc.
As for the Skyline, it was going well then after just a couple of laps into the session, a mk2 MR2 came out of the hairpin sideways, the driver was unable to catch it and it tank-slapped off the track and up the bank coming to rest on the tyre wall. Session over.
Bobby did manage to get another session at the end of the day where the Skyline performed pretty well, a couple more tweeks should see it ready. Ready to annihilate my best time (set in the Caterham Supersport) at the Nurburgring at the end of May, that is!!
