2018 – July – Goodwood Festival of Speed

Goodwood Festival of Speed, July 2018

Only had the Friday at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed, courtesy of a client which was very nice. Had a lovely drive across country with my Dad in his E-Type, first proper drive I'd had in it, despite the extremely hot weather, the old Jag performed faultlessly with all temps and oil pressure staying exactly where they should be.
The hot weather continued all day which was great, but the FOS is now far too big to try and fit everything into a single day, it is more like a major motor show now complete with many new car launches happening here now. Some of the manufacturers stands are huge, multi-level affairs that must cost £-millions to erect and staff for the weekend, I was even offered a haircut and traditional shave at the Mini stand!!
Anyway, I managed to look around most of the stands, as well as seeing a lot of the cars on display on the cricket green and near Goodwood House itself but saw very little action on the hill climb and didn't make it anywhere near the top of the hill to the action areas, rally stage or paddock unfortunately, I must try and do at least two days next year.
